Youd think that intense topics like sex
slavery and wicked political ambitions
involving Middle Eastern kidnappers, a
rogue agent and the Secret Service would
be infinitely engaging. Well, think again.
Val Kilmer plays a stone-faced military
officer with less emotion and appeal than
a telephone pole who is assigned to a
search-and-rescue mission when the
Presidents daughter vanishes from her
Harvard campus. After Kilmer has said
the word "Baby" 20 times too many, he
discovers an international trafficking ring
of young blondes and a ruthless
conspiracy among high-ranking officials
who are determined to win the upcoming
re-election. Instead of a captivating
mystery with high-stakes action,
writer/director David Mamet presents a
convoluted mess of unanswered
questions that tests your will to fight off
bouts of boredom and complete
disinterest.
