A ribbon-cutting for new improvements at Tucson's largest natural resource park takes place at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1; free. Improvements include new bike parking, accessible parking spaces, a trailhead plaza with interpretive signage, trail system signage, and two new overlook plazas with ramadas and seat-walls. The event kicks off Tucson's Birthday, traditionally celebrated in August for the 4,000-year-old city.
