Suspect Zero

Zero, indeed. An incredible waste of talent as the underutilized and usually awesome Aaron Eckhart plays the stereotypical FBI guy searching for a serial killer. But wait! There’s a twist! This serial killer kills other serial killers! And more! He has special superpowers that allow him to circumvent careful plotting by allowing him to magically see where the serial killers are and what they’re doing and what kind of underwear they’re wearing and stuff! So don’t expect any great detective work here, because that would have forced the screenwriter (the widely reviled Zak Penn) to have actually done some work. As it stands, Ben Kingsley, rumored to be quite the thespian, is stuck in the tortured killer role, and Carrie-Anne Moss just wanders around as set dressing. If you’re a big serial killer fan, you might enjoy the cheeky use of the names of famous serial killers for the characters in the movie, but that’s about it for enjoying this film.
