Sweet Sixteen

Ken Loach’s latest is a semi-remake of Truffaut’s 400 Blows set in Scotland. A depressing tale of about a young boy who is literally forced into a life of crime, Sweet Sixteen has Loach’s usual political bent and interesting performancs achieved by using inexperienced actors. Not for everyone, but fans of Loach and those willing to tolerate a darker, more depressing, and yet no less accurate view of youth will be well rewarded.

Sweet Sixteen is not showing in any theaters in the area.
