Ken Loachs latest is a semi-remake of
Truffauts 400 Blows set in
Scotland. A depressing tale of about a
young boy who is literally forced into a life
of crime, Sweet Sixteen has
Loachs usual political bent and
interesting performancs achieved by
using inexperienced actors. Not for
everyone, but fans of Loach and those
willing to tolerate a darker, more
depressing, and yet no less accurate
view of youth will be well rewarded.
