The Attack

If he doesn’t find any answers, Amin (Ali Suliman) has nowhere left to look. An esteemed Palestinian doctor working in Tel Aviv, his world is rocked when his wife is alleged to be a suicide bomber who killed 17 people, including 11 children. As he begins his own investigation, Amin is trying to find out the truth but closure may be as close as he gets. The Attack is a sobering look behind the constant turmoil between the Arab world and Israel. It’s presented both in the black and white that characterizes most of the policy relating to the region and all the gray that embodies the people who live there. And, as with Amin’s own journey, director Ziad Doueiri may have begun looking for a kind of truth, but the only thing he has at the end is perspective. Whether it’s hopeless or hopeful, it still feels accurate.
