The Back-up Plan

Jennifer Lopez is back and worse than ever in The Back-up Plan, a movie so unfunny that it’s almost offensive. Lopez plays Zoe, a single girl living in the big city who is ready to start a family. After years of dating and not finding “the one,” she decides to be artificially inseminated. On the day of the procedure, she meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), who pretty much stalks her until she agrees to a date. They soon begin a romance; even after the revelation that Zoe is pregnant, Stan decides to stick around. Lopez and O’Loughlin have zero chemistry, and the so-called “love” that they share looks an awful lot like petty bickering. Both are so annoying and unlikable that one can’t help but wonder why they end up together. One of the worst films of the year so far.

The Back-up Plan is not showing in any theaters in the area.
