The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975

Swedish journalists visiting the United States managed to capture video of the likes of Stokely Carmichael and Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. This is one of the more fascinating looks at these troubled yet inspirational times—and it’s all the more interesting that it was done by folks from another country. Director Göran Olsson puts together the footage, long after it was initially filmed, in a fashion that is absorbing on many levels. One of the year’s more-fascinating documentaries.

The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 is not showing in any theaters in the area.
