The Condemned

Reality TV is taken to a sadistic extreme in this nasty exploitation of senseless carnage from director Scott Wiper. A group of death-row inmates battles on a deserted island that is rigged with Big Brother surveillance for any violent voyeur to take advantage. The last man standing after endless bludgeons, shots and explosions gets the grand prize of a reduced sentence. Wrestling entertainer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin stars as one of the forced-to-kill cons. He shouldn’t quit his day job, since his mumbling Texan drawl barely spits out his clichéd lines with any conviction. Throw in a headache-inducing soundtrack, and the result is basically unwatchable.
