The Count of Monte Cristo (needs review)

It is a classic tale. Steaming vengeance transforms one's starry-eyed naiveté into cunning brilliance to calculate intricately the utter ruin of those he avenges. A wrongfully imprisoned embittered soul survives more than a dozen unbearable years of torture, solitary confinement, and masked hopelessness. Envy, greed, and personal motives grow like parasites inside the devilish hearts of selfish scoundrels only to be defeated by true love, determination, and justice. It's a classic tale. No wonder so many filmmakers have adapted this rags-to-riches saga by literary genius Alexandre Dumas. This time director Kevin Reynolds helms this ambitious expedition with a gifted cast, all of whom viewers certainly can Count on.
