The Great Raid

Being a POW sucks. You get tortured and brutalized. You don’t get any food, except maybe the occasional maggot-infested slop. Then there’s a case of malaria. But all is cool when soldiers rescue everyone. It’s too bad that this compelling true story didn’t have more heart and soul put into it. What was director John Dahl thinking? His film was all over the place, with the writers using two separate books by these two different authors to make the screenplay. The Great Raid was total a great waste of time, despite Benjamin Bratt’s presence.
