Tis the season to blast right-wing
nutjobs. On the heels of Fahrenheit
9/11 comes this documentary about
the alleged right-wing conspiracy that
"hunted" former President Bill Clinton for
more than 12 years. The film makes a
compelling case for why the whole
impeachment process was horrifically
slanted (Starr should never have been
given that job) and is also notable for its
coverage of the many affairs that Clinton
supposedly had. Unfortunately, the film is
rather horribly done, a goofy cinematic
style that uses old film clips to accentuate
points, ala the lousy HBO TV series
Dream On. This results in a
distracting mess that makes it hard to
take the film seriously. While a few comic
moments and silly sound effects mightve
been tolerable, the whole movie seems
like some sort of strange joke, like a
cinematic version of the Weekly World
News. Still, if the politics here are of
interest to you, the movie might be worth
a gander. Just make sure to have a nice,
soothing cup of tea before attempting to
watch.
