The Man Who Fell to Earth

This cult classic from director Nicolas Roeg (Walkabout, Don’t Look Now) with David Bowie (in his first starring role) playing an alien begins an engagement on Friday, Aug. 19, at the Loft Cinema, showcasing a brand-new 35-millimeter restoration for the film’s 35th anniversary. On Friday and Saturday night, enjoy a David Bowie “video salon” before the film, featuring Bowie videos like “Let’s Dance” and “Ziggy Stardust.” (As part of a Bowie weekend, the Loft will also be showing Labyrinth on Friday and Saturday as part of the Late Night Cult Classic series). Bowie definitely kicked off his acting career in a strange way with this, one of the strangest pieces of cinema Roeg put out—and Roeg made some strange films, for sure.

The Man Who Fell to Earth is not showing in any theaters in the area.
