The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers

Daniel Ellsberg was an early supporter of the Vietnam War. He helped plan it, and he fought in it. Over time, his opinions changed, and he decided to copy some Pentagon papers and distribute them to newspapers and members of Congress. He was brought up on treason charges and targeted by President Richard Nixon. Ultimately—and quite shockingly—Ellsberg triumphed in his fight against the system. This documentary by Judith Ehrlich and Rick Goldsmith, which was nominated for an Oscar, tells of Ellsberg’s transformation from Pentagon insider to the ultimate peace crusader, and does so in a captivating way. This is a good history lesson … and a good movie.
