The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie

Seemingly trying to coattail on the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Big Idea Productions sent their animated Christian produce on this mild-mannered swashbuckling adventure. VeggieTales mainstays Larry the Cucumber, Mr. Lunt and Pa Grape work as pirate-aspiring busboys, each with his own personality problem. When a historical artifact falls from the heavens and dispatches the troubled trio back to the 17th century, they’re given a chance to live out their pirating dreams and overcome weakness—with some divine intervention, of course. Very young children might enjoy the silly soundtrack and shiver-me-timbers plot, while the adults forced to endure the 85-minute running time will have to settle for appreciating the moral messages.
