The Powerpuff Girls Movie

Fans hungry to learn the origin of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup—those super-powered, butt-kicking little pixies with heads bigger than their bodies and no hands—will appreciate this, the first movie from the Cartoon Network’s crime-fighting team. It provides all the inside dope on how Professor Utonium created the girls (active ingredients: sugar, spice and everything nice) and how the manic monkey Mojo Jojo was once the professor’s lab assistant but became the girls’ arch-nemesis. Kids will love this feature-length cartoon because it’s so darn lovable and adults will appreciate its campy, old-school appeal. Action-wise, it’s a blast to see the trio’s simple game of tag destroy the entire burg of Townsville. This is as solid as vapid entertainment gets. As an added bonus, it’s showing with a way-cool Dexter’s Laboratory short.
