The Promotion

Two average schlubs face off over the coveted position of manager of a new supermarket location. Seann William Scott plays Doug, who wants the promotion to buy the dream home he and his wife have always wanted. John C. Reilly’s Richard wants the job to help him overcome his shady past of drugs and depression. Directing for the first time, writer Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) depicts characters who tell the story of a slice of everyday life, instead of merely being the butt of immature slapstick.
