The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

Or maybe it will be … an almost accidental documentary, Revolution follows the coup against Venezuela’s democratically elected president, the clinically insane Hugo Chavez. Luckily, the film crew just happened to be there when the coup, which may well have been supported by the United States, took place. The filmmaker’s biases are refreshingly up-front, and the footage of the coup is rare first-hand stuff. This is what cinema verité would have been if it were invented by ancient Romans on the day Julius Caesar was killed.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised is not showing in any theaters in the area.
