When a film stars Mr. Jackass himself and is produced by the Farrelly brothers (aka the cinematic masters of black comedy) with help from the Special Olympics, you expect a wild ride. However, in this case, the ride is about as wild as being on a broken escalator. Johnny Knoxvilles guilt-stricken character needs $28,000 to pay a finger-reattachment surgery bill for his digitless gardener. Brian Coxs unabashedly crass character needs a hefty sum to pay off his mob debts. So the two desperate dimwits decide to rig the Special Olympics and await the supposed cash flow that will result. However, the only result is a predictable, inspirational, eye-opening wannabe on the treatment of developmentally delayed people that never even leaves the starting block.
