The Rookie

Dennis Quaid makes a major league comeback in his career by playing Jim Morris, the high school science teacher who gets a second chance at living out his baseball fantasies. Writer Mick Rich of Finding Forrester fame continues his winning streak with another inspirationally moving screenplay, and this G-rated Disney flick based on a true story is now an eligible inductee for the Baseball Movie Hall of Fame along side The Natural and Field of Dreams. Head coach John Lee Hancock also wins the series because of the strong editing on offense and the captivating soundtrack on defense used. Therefore, root, root, root for The Rookie because you won't care if you ever come back, despite these cheesy baseball metaphors.
