Tooth Fairy

If shunning logic is your idea of a good time, then Tooth Fairy may be the movie for you. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, a minor-league hockey player known as the “Tooth Fairy” (DING! We have a title!) due to his uncanny ability to hit guys so hard that their teeth fall out. When his girlfriend’s daughter loses a tooth, Derek almost breaks the news to her that the tooth fairy isn’t real. Because of this, Derek is sentenced to become a real tooth fairy by some sort of fairy judge named Lily (Julie Andrews). This was a rough one to sit through, despite occasional splashes of originality and a few funny jokes in the middle. Most of the film is muddled and confusing, with the plot becoming more and more convoluted. The Rock really needs to stop making these awful kids’ movies and start making some action flicks.
