This documentary on The Minutemen is perhaps a little choppy and too reliant on interviews with various 80s punk-rock legends, but it doesnt matter, because the live concert footage and discussions with Minutemen members make this priceless. If youre not in the know, The Minutemen were the greatest rock band in the history of tonality. Though they never had a hit, they did produce the definitive document of 80s American music, Double Nickels on the Dime, and their strange blend of country, thrash, folk and blues has inspired just about every three-piece unit since their untimely demise. Surviving members Mike Watt and George Hurley add spicy memories, and everyone who was anyone in the 80s chimes in to note that The Minutemen were a singular event. See this before the RIAA makes it illegal.
