It’s the year 2002, and big business has been given free reign by a corrupt and illegitimately elected government. Which, oddly, is also the plot of this movie. Only the movie’s a lot more fun. If you like flesh-eating zombies (and who doesn’t?), naked super-models (ditto!) and things that are exploding, dying or catching fire, then you’re sure to love Resident Evil. Not only is it the best R-rated action/horror/sci-fi movie ever to be adapted from a video game, it’s also the only movie this month to feature vicious, undead Doberman pinschers just like the ones Antonin Scalia keeps in his secret underwater fortress of evil.
